The work

What I built

I built the Laravel backend and Next.js administration dashboard, then compared Octane/Swoole with PHP-FPM under a 500-concurrent-user workload as part of my Software Engineering thesis.

  1. 01

Built an e-learning backend with Laravel 11, Octane/Swoole, and PostgreSQL, covering more than 15 modules.

  2. 02

Compared Octane/Swoole and PHP-FPM at 500 concurrent users; the reported tests measured 89–154% more requests per second with Octane.

  3. 03

Built a server-rendered Next.js administration dashboard and evaluated it through UAT with six administrator respondents.

About these numbers

The throughput comparison applies to the thesis workload and test environment. The UAT score reflects six respondents. The 36 API cases describe the reported test set, not total code coverage.

Inside the workflow

Build the learning system, then examine how it runs.

LEVL combines a certification e-learning backend with an administration dashboard. Alongside implementation, my Software Engineering thesis examined Laravel server performance under a defined workload and evaluated the dashboard with administrators.

  1. 01

    Implement the backend

Laravel and PostgreSQL support more than 15 application modules for certification learning workflows.

  2. 02

    Build the administration interface

A server-rendered Next.js dashboard connects administration tasks to the backend.

  3. 03

    Evaluate with context

The reported evaluation includes 36 API cases, UAT with six administrators, and a 500-concurrent-user server comparison.

Keep benchmark results tied to their workload

The thesis comparison reported 89–154% more requests per second with Octane/Swoole than PHP-FPM under its test conditions. That range applies to the evaluated environment. The 87.38% UAT acceptability score comes from six administrators and measures a different aspect of the project.
